Ryanair are scum, so whats new?
Well, having just read this, I think Ryanair have actually found a new low, now I know Ryanair have rules and regs about people of “reduced mobility” and advance notice if you need a wheelchair or assistance to get to or from the plane. It’s fairly clear from their website what the score is…
Reduced mobility, blind/vision impaired, or Passengers requiring special assistance in the airport
- For safety reasons Ryanair can carry only a maximum of four passengers per flight who have either reduced mobility, or are blind/visually impaired travelling with a guide dog or alone or require special assistance at the airport. Such passengers (including in the case of those who are blind/vision impaired if travelling with a sighted companion) must notify Ryanair of their Condition/requirements on the day of booking via your local Ryanair call centre. Failure to notify us on such day will result in the service being unavailable on your arrival at the airport and your being refused carriage.
Just one question: What happens when someone injures themselves after they have booked? is it to be expected that they are to be treated like a subhuman? or should you just make alternative travel arrangements? What a fabulous strategy Mr. O’Leary, fly Ryanair unless your requirements change after your booking!
Your T’s & C’s are all very well but some basic human compassion goes along way towards generating positive word of mouth advertising and as anyone with a shred of business sense knows word of mouth is priceless. Lets be honest, when you’re going to buy something, which influences you more, a low price, a slick ad campaign or a recommendation from a friend?
Remember good value is not always cheap, sometimes, but not always. There’s more discussion on this over on P45, so give it a look and have your say.
Damien, I hope your Mum is feeling better real soon.
