Yeah, It’s monday and I have the day to myself, Elly has to work so I’ve got the house to myself. Now what am I going to do with myself?

Well I’ve already caught up on all my blog and news reading, my Google reader has no unread feeds left for the first time since I switched from Newsgator. :) although it seems to not want to allow me to add more feeds which is odd cause I know I don’t have as many as the likes of Robert Scoble but I can’t add anymore now :(

From my reading frenzy this morning, I see Grandad has Blognapped Granny’s Blog to wish her a happy birthday, the oul romantic! :) Well at least he didn’t head off tourist hunting for the day :)

Gizmodo seems to be getting less about the gadgets and more about the gags, these days, so much so that I hardly seem to read it anymore, could it be that the volume of posts is costing them quality? Surely not.

And Finally, over on the Blather Zeitgeist, Damien has posted a brilliant short film from Blur Studios, very funny and well worth the bandwidth and time it takes to view it.

So am I going to mow the lawn and fix the Media Centre PC today or just laze around the house all day and do nothing, It’s my day off after all. ;)

I’m disgusted, Fernando Alonso, a two times world Champion, ignored his pit crew and sat in the pit box as Lewis Hamilton waited for a change of tyres and have one last crack at pole position. Fernando delayed Lewis long enough that he wasn’t able to attempt his last flying lap before the qualifying ended and took pole position from Lewis.

Shame on you Fernando, you have often criticised other drivers for tactics such as these and now you do the same! To your own Teammate? of course your counting on Ron Dennis not lodging a formal complaint, as it would compromise the team, your counting on Ron Dennis not feeling the need to ‘change your engine’ or ‘start you from the pit lane’ or even firing you. It was obvious from the coverage that this was not planned and approved by the team.

I’m reminded of ‘Rascassegate’ at last years Monaco GP and Flavio Briatore’s comments in particular.

“Someone who was seven times a world champion wants us to believe that he didn’t do it on purpose – it’s fairyland.”

At least there could be some debate over Schumacher’s intentions, but, in my opinion, there can be no denying that Fernando sat still despite being ordered out of the pits by the team.

This all comes right in the middle of the whole Stepneygate affair and I have to say thing’s look bad for McLaren, they were found guilty of cheating, yet not penalised as ‘they gained no benefit’ from the information. I’m sorry, but cheating is cheating and unless some punishment is applied to McLaren even as a token gesture, I believe it calls in to question the impartiality of the FIA and it almost legitimises cheating maybe that’s why Fernando did it.

I’m sure there will be a lot of comment in the next few days/weeks regardless of what the outcome this weekend and in the whole spy thing, at the end of the day, it would be easy to say the only ones losing out are the stakeholders in the sport, as they are making a mockery of what has been an incredibly entertaining season in F1 for all the right reasons.

But I love F1, have done since I were a nipper and I’m a stakeholder in the sport, granted as a spectator only but it’s the spectators that the sponsors want to entice and it’s the sponsors that provide the funds for the teams and drivers to go racing. I’m glad I’m not a vodafone customer because I would now have to change phone companies, I’m glad I don’t drive a Mercedes because I would have to change it.

While I was playing around with this blog at the weekend I decided there are a few things I would like to change here, hopefully I’ll find the time to do them, soon.

  • Make my “Archive” page work
  • Make a “Category” Page
  • Make an RSS news feed page

This probably sounds fairly simple and straightforward but unfortunately my knowledge in the whole coding area isn’t the best, so these thing’s may take quiet some time :)

It’s true, just ask Elly. So when I realised that I needed to update my wardrobe a bit for the impending honeymoon, I got into my usual sulk at the thoughts of what was in store.

Still at least this time I don’t have to go looking for T-shirts as well, thanks to T-Shirt Hell. I have ordered off them before to check the size and quality etc. so I just logged in and bought a load of great T’s in no time. Job done. Well, except for the trousers, shoes, Shirts and Jackets that I apparently “need” :p

There are some designs on there site that I would never wear for obvious taste reasons, (in fact some would say they are not suitable for public consumption) but they are all funny and they’re great quality T’s as well.

Still it got me to thinking about which of T-shirt hell’s shirts would most suit my favourite ‘local’ blogger.

Ellybabes

Talk Nerdy to me or how about I'll be using these to my advantage

and finally, the one that I think is probably gonna get me in trouble ;)

If I had ...

So have I got it right or have I just seriously insulted my new wife? time and the comments will tell :)

If there was a medal of honour for support then LouderVoice should have it.

Earlier today, I signed up to use the LouderVoice review service. The signup was one of the best I’ve used, uncomplicated and friendly, but I digress.

So I posted my first review and felt all proud of myself for achieving another blog post in the weekend. :)

Unfortunatly there is an issue with WordPress that can cause difficulties for LouderVoice. I was completely unaware of this issue and because it displayed fine in my blog I didn’t think to check LouderVoice.

A few minutes later Elly mentions that she’s forwarding me an e-mail to me, so I checked my mail and it’s from LouderVoice’s own Conor letting me know all about the issue (I won’t bore you with the details but there’s a brief summary in the comments on this post), what to change in WordPress’s options and the correct code to edit into the post.

It’s a sunday afternoon around lunchtime and Conor is sending me tech support I didn’t even know that I needed :) That’s support above and beyond the call of duty and deserves to be acknowledged.

It was only yesterday I was posting about how frustrating it can be when the technology just doesn’t work the way you expect and today someone jumps into help me out when exactly that happened. Hmmm have I found someone who actually reads my blog? :O

Thanks for the help Conor, much appreciated. :)
